The TOW EagleFire is a next-generation missile launcher for the TOW 2 missile family. The new firing unit has been designed to fire both wire-guided and wireless radio frequency guided missiles. EagleFire features less complexity with fewer sub-assemblies as well as improved target acquisition and engagement while being simpler to maintain and more reliable thanks to built-in test equipment. It is powered by lithium-ion batteries allowing for nine-hour silent operation and can be charged by built-in AC and on vehicle charging capability. The new launcher features integrated day-and-night sight with range-finding capability; ergonomic handgrips; and extensive built-in test capability. Raytheon unveiled the TOW EagleFire on October 29, 2015.
